Government Funded Counselling for Victims of Crime

Homicide Counselling (HC):

Available to: Whānau, family, close friends, witnesses, discoverers of victims of homicide.

Number of hours: Maximum of 30 hours per affected person

Death by a Criminal Act Counselling (DCC):

Available to: Whānau, family, close friends, witnesses, discoverers of victims killed by a criminal act.

Number of hours: Maximum of 30 hours per affected person

Serious Crime Counselling (SCC):

Available to: Available to Primary Victims of some serious crimes for incidents after 1 July 2023.

Number of hours: Maximum of 15 hours per person

Sexual Violence Counselling (SVS):

Available to: Available for a Primary Victim if there are delays through ACC, for incidents after 1 July 2023.

Number of hours: Maximum of 10 hours per person

Regulatory Agency Counselling (RAC):

Fatalities:-

Available to: Whānau, family, close friends, prosecution witnesses of Maritime and Worksafe incidents.

Number of hours: Maximum of 30 hours per affected person

Serious Physical Injuries:-

Available to: Available to Primary Victims and prosecution witnesses of Maritime and Worksafe incidents.

Number of hours: Maximum of 15 hours per affected person.
